Maggie Gallagher champions marriage equality?

Maggie Gallagher writing for the Manila Times notes:
Divorce is down; family instability is up. How can that be?

More and more young men and women are choosing to have children in cohabiting rather than marital unions.

And cohabitation turns out to be a poor substitute for marriage.
I don't know if Maggie's first premise is correct about divorce and instability. What I  do know is that some two million children in this country are being raised by a gay parent or a gay couple. Wouldn't the same logic apply?

Obviously, I am using selective observation and editing. However, Ms. Gallagher really is concerned about the best interests of family and children. Were she not a willing captive of her religion, she would probably be a staunch ally for marriage equality.
