[Video] Minnesota's Marriage Twinkie serves up some baloney

I have no idea where, how or why they found Kalley Yanta. This time she dazzles us by asking questions that aren't asked and then proceeding to give the wrong answer anyway. [Video below the Q&A.

Religions have every right to define what they think is a sin. For some Christians, gay sex is a sin. For Scientologists, seeing a psychiatrist or taking anti-depressants is a sin. For others, it might pertain to wearing the right kind of underwear.  It is irrelevant! In this country, the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the US Constitution clearly prohibits making laws in recognition of religion. It's not ambiguous.

While the motivation for banning same-sex marriage is clearly based on religious objections, the hate comes along with the method used to persuade others that marriage equality is bad. So far, this has taken the form of gay people being a threat to children and other means of denigration. That is hatred.

Q.  Aren’t churches really motivated by hatred for gays and lesbians? They say that homosexuality is a sin. 

A.  The Minnesota Marriage Protection Amendment isn’t about sin; it’s about preserving the institution of marriage as the union of one man and one woman as has been the case in Minnesota since before Minnesota became a state.
