Oh, those NOM links

NOM is linking to a piece by ADF which states Regnerus Study Vindicated. Well, ADF, that's not entirely correct. Mark Regnerus was cleared of academic misconduct by UT, Austin which did not look into either the merits or methodology of the study. Ultimately, they found that Regnerus is innocent of plagiarism and fraud.

Academics are free to author intellectually mediocre, sloppy, poorly reasoned and incoherent studies. Doing so is not academic malfeasance.

By the way, exactly why is NOM so interested in this study? Even if one accepted the findings at face value and as capsulized by NOM, what does any of this have to do with marriage? Over the past few months I have had email exchanges with a number of people prominent in their opposition to marriage equality. The back and forth stops abruptly as soon as I ask them to explain the connection of parenting to marriage.

Marriage equality does not change the custody of a single child.

One more time     ad nauseum. Regardless of whether or not gays can marry, the same heterosexual couples are going to unite in the same marriages and crank out the same kids and sue for the same divorces that result in the same custody arrangements. For their part, gays will adopt the same children and possibly a few more.
