T-Bag Fights Dallas County Same-Sex Benefits

On October 30 the Dallas County Commission approved employee benefits for same-sex couples joining at least two other counties and five cities in Texas. Last Friday, a Republican state senator asked the Attorney General's Office for its opinion on the legality of the measure. Dallas joined two other counties and five cities in Texas

Dan Patrick filed the request Friday, citing Texas Proposition 2, which defined marriage as between a man and a woman and prohibited government entities from creating or recognizing anything "identical or similar to marriage." Texas voters approved the state constitutional amendment in 2005.

Patrick is a darling of the Texas Tea Party. Their idea of small government continues to be quite invasive and large when it comes to women and gays.
