Reaching out with love and compassion to those attracted to Mormonism

English: Temple garments, underwear worn by me...
Whom do they think that they are fooling? In 2007, as equal marriage was gaining steam in California, the Mormons authored a pamphlet titled God Loveth His Children. The pamphlet acknowledges the reality of same-gender attractions and makes clear that it is not sinful. However, it made clear that any sexual relationship outside of a heterosexual marriage is sinful and adds that "the desire for physical gratification does not authorize immorality by anyone." This was the kinder, gentler attitude towards gay people. In other words this was part of a PR campaign.

In the interim, Mormon, Inc. has systematically conducted a multi-million dollar campaign of repression. Their bishops have defamed us while they have funded pray-away-the-gay "therapy." They have used their huge tax-exempt business empire to fund political campaigns that go well beyond the interests of the Church. Preventing gays of other faiths from marrying has nothing to do with the protecting their interests.

A few days ago, the church introduced us to a website calling for a civil dialog with people  who have same-sex attractions (they have real problems referring to people as gays or lesbians). There's nothing new here. They have converted their five-year old pamphlet into a multimedia website. In other words, this is a continuation of a PR campaign.

I have come to the conclusion that Willard Mitt Romney was the quintessential Mormon candidate; Deceptive, secretive and strange.
