[Video] French marriage equality bill clears first parliamentary vote (dubbed)

Marriage equality clears its first legislative hurdle in France. French legislators must now deal with 5,000 proposed amendments, the majority of which were introduced by conservatives in an attempt to derail the measure.

Roughly two-thirds of French citizens approve of marriage equality. Opposition is largely among conservative Catholics.
