A new and novel reason to oppose marriage equality

Sometimes I just have to laugh at some of the pedestrian arguments advanced to oppose equality. It's not just that they are unconvincing; Their authors have some intellectual void that allows them to conclude that the implausible argument is compelling. According to National Organization for Marriage:
Iowa Gay Marriage Fraud Prevents At Least One Man From Taking a Bride

A former rural Iowa court official pleaded guilty Monday to forgery for filing false documents to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple from central Florida, in the first case of its kind in Iowa.
I have two questions:
  1. What on earth does this have to do with recognition of same-sex marriage?
  2. How was someone prevented from taking a bride?
The original headline in the Miami Herald makes more sense: Ex-Iowa official guilty in gay marriage fraud case
