Salvatore Cordileone continues to bitch about marriage equality

Casual" attire
Salvatore Cordileone, Archbishop of San Francisco, is the Church's point man on marriage discrimination. On the US Conference of Catholic Bishops marriage blog, Cordileone starts with a bulleted summary:
  • Decision to redefine marriage in law a serious injustice
  • Marriage by its nature union of one man, one woman
  • Every child deserves a married mother and father
To whom exactly is this injustice? We could just as easily claim, according to the Bible, that marriage by its nature is the union of one man and many women. And please cut the mommy and daddy crap until you can demonstrate how marriage equality affects parenting. Never mind that gay couples are raising children who would benefit from marriage equality.

It actually gets more offensive:
Marriage is the only institution that unites a man and a woman to each other and to any child conceived of their union. While those making great sacrifices to raise their children in less than ideal circumstances need and deserve our love and support, we cannot claim to have a just society if we do not look out for the most vulnerable among us: children.
