What will Ryan T. Anderson do next and why is he doing it?

Ryan Anderson as a defender of the faith     a Knight Templar     is nothing if not prolific. This smart guy is saying some spectacularly stupid things.

Ryan T. Anderson
Yesterday I wrote about Mr. Anderson's interview with CBN. My hypothesis is that Robert George got hold of this young man at Princeton and created a religious zealot who has now compromised his intellectual honesty and critical thinking.

Does Mr. Anderson believe that he is influencing the Supreme Court? Does he not realize that decisions are reached after oral argument and that it is extremely rare for a justice to change his opinion thereafter?

Today, Anderson takes to the National Review Online, According to National Organization for Marriage, Ryan Anderson argues that it's unconstitutional for activist judges to settle the marriage debate. Not quite but Anderson does make some astonishingly unsupportable statements. For example:
But whatever one thinks about marriage, it’s clear that the courts shouldn’t be redefining it. We should work out marriage policy through the democratic process, rather than allowing unelected judges to dictate it through decisions that have no grounding in the text or logic of our Constitution.
No Mr. Anderson. No.  One cannot simply dismiss one of the three branches of government.

In US v. Windsor, the "democratic process" has, indeed, taken place. We have competing interests between the legislators of New York State and the US Congress. The issue is the constitutionality of Section 3 of DOMA. Only the courts can decide the matter.

Hollingsworth is a test of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. A constitutional amendment is the result of the democratic process, to the extreme.

It seems that Mr. Anderson is only interested in the democratic process when it suits his religious agenda. Moreover, I would love to know what Supreme Court decision has not been grounded "in the text or logic of our Constitution."
