What a shock - Tony Perkins is upset about committee approval of ENDA

Tony Perkins
No reason to doubt why Family Research Council is designated as an anti-gay hate group:
In the midst of so many crises, many are left to wonder why Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) are pushing legislation that mandates special rights based on sexual preferences.
One would think that "special rights" and "sexual preferences" would have gone to the rhetoric dustbin years ago, even for extreme right wing Christian hate groups. Most people who are capable of critical thinking know bullshit for what it is. By Mr. Perkins' logic, Christian enjoy special rights in the workplace. Perkins continues:
The law unfairly places burdens on employers to know about their employees' sexual lifestyles and to take that into consideration when making employment decisions.
Utter nonsense. ENDA applies when employers do know the sexual orientation of an employee or prospective employee. In that case, they are prohibited from using sexual orientation in employment decisions.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination by covered employers on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. ENDA simply adds sexual orientation/identity to existing law.
Businesses, including daycares and public schools, will be ordered to comply (or face penalties), regardless of the impact on their organization. Apart from the bill's obvious special interest problems, it would be a magnet for costly lawsuits that burden businesses in an already suffering economy.
Get the "daycares and public schools" dog whistle? Very subtle Mr. Perkins.

I am convinced that Tony Perkins has some strange sexual fantasies. His extreme homophobia is "projection."
