Culture: Preachers with snakes get their own reality TV show

Two snake-handling Pentecostal preachers are getting their own reality television show.

The National Geographic Channel will debut Snake Salvation on September 10. The two preachers are Andrew Hamblin of Tabernacle Church of God in LaFollette, Tennessee and Jamie Coots of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name church of Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Rev. Coots wants people to know that “… the main thing is for people to see that there is more to us than wanting to handle snakes.” The show will also include scenes from services where congregants handle snakes. Rev. Coots is probably in for a disappointment.

I don't know about sinners but National Geographic has clearly lost its way.
