Gimme, Gimme, Gimme! NOM desperate to convince people that marriage equality is not inevitable

Brian S. Brown - National Organization for Marriage
National Organization for Marriage seems to be feeling the brunt of marriage equality inevitability.

Today, Brian Brown cites two polls that appear to be outliers. The first is to a Rice University poll conducted sometime in 2012. The other a Fox News poll. Both polls suggest that a majority of people don't favor "changing the definition of marriage" to include same-sex couples. That "redefinition"  language is biased but so what? There are a few things that I know to a reasonable certainty.

  1. When people change their minds on this issue it is always in the direction of equality.
  2. Nearly 60% of people, 34 and under, favor equality.
  3. Last November we ran the table. If the Fox or Rice polls are correct it means that people who oppose same-sex marriage still see it as an issue of equality that they favor.
  4. Between changing attitudes and court decisions, national marriage equality is inevitable.
