In presiding at a Same-Sex Wedding, Justice Ginsburg Sends a Powerful Message

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
This evening, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will become the first Supreme Court justice to officiate a same-sex marriage ceremony.

Justice Ginsburg will wed Michael M. Kaiser, president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and John Roberts, a prominent economist. The wedding, which will take place at the Kennedy Center, is expected to attract a roster of prominent and influential guests.

A Justice of the Supreme Court officiating a gay marriage where one of the men earns $1.5 million running a $200 million enterprise. We have come a very long way!
