Brian Brown is all sorts of pissed off this morning

Brian S. Brown - National Organization for Marriage
The dim bulb running National Organization for Marriage is apparently in denial that national marriage equality is inevitable.

Three members of the Richmond City Council have introduced an ordinance that would recognize same-sex 'marriages,' in violation of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia!

This is the latest in a string of nationwide efforts by the same-sex 'marriage' lobby to circumvent the law and impose a genderless
marriage regime on the American people against their will.
Sure sounds like DefCon Four to me. What Mr. Brown fails to realize is that bad laws don't justify discrimination. This kind of "push" from within is one of the ways that bad laws get changed. Perhaps Mr. Brown does realize what is going on here and that is why he is so unhinged.

I haven't the first clue what a “genderless marriage regime” is. Moreover, a recent poll indicates that a majority of Virginians favor marriage equality. I could also mount a compelling argument that Virginia's constitutional amendment banning equality (like those in other states) violates the equal protection clause of the US Constitution. That's more than I can say for NOM. Since 2008 they have failed to voice a coherent argument that supports the notion that marriage equality affects anyone other than those thus wed.

Then there is the hypocrisy. The same Mr. Brown has urged county clerks in equality states to disobey state marriage laws and refuse to issue marriage licenses because of his religious objection.
