Patiently waiting for NOM's renewed freak-out over Hawaii

About three weeks ago, Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie said that he would call for a special legislative session to effect marriage equality, if he had the votes. Yesterday, Governor Abercrombie called for that special session which presumably means that he has the votes.

On August 21, Brian Brown sent out an "urgent" request, on behalf of National Organization for Marriage, urging people to contact their legislators. Not surprisingly, NOM cited Larry Silva's letter which had not yet gone out. NOM is just a proxy for the Church.
In a letter to the Catholic Diocese of Honolulu on August 22, Bishop Larry Silva wrote that "several legislators who are not in favor of same-sex marriage have told [him] that the loudest voices on the issue are those who favor it, while those who say they are opposed are relatively silent."
On August 22, Bishop Larry Silva of Hawaii did, indeed, send a letter to his parishioners. In his letter, Silva tried to make a case for "just"discrimination in his quest to impose Catholic teachings on Hawaii in opposition to marriage equality.

Apparently these folks accomplished nothing.
