GOP Sens Portman and Toomey Join Majority on ENDA

The Employment Non-Discrimination act cleared the Senate today with of 61-30 vote. Late in the session, Democrats picked up the support of two additional Republicans, Senator Portman of Ohio and Senator Toomey of Pennsylvania. Claire McCaskill was attending a funeral. This was a cloture motion which clears the bill for debate.

Speaker of the House John Boehner announced his opposition to the bill earlier today. The potential for it to even come up for a vote seems slim
