Illinois Family Institute's Laurie Higgins exposes GLSEN's agenda

Laurie Higgins - IFI
Two hate groups converge; Illinois Family Institute offers an anti-gay tirade on American Family Association's blog. In the same post AFA recites: “Parents are being urged to keep their children home from school this Friday if their school decides to take part in the homosexual-backed ‘Day of Silence.’” Apparently truancy is a family value. This continues:

Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute says there's a more sinister purpose. "Those of us who pay attention to GLSEN know what their chief aim is: to eradicate conservative moral beliefs about homosexual activity and gender confusion," Higgins tells OneNewsNow.

Those of us who "pay attention to" the American Taliban know perfectly well that Ms. Higgins is projecting. Moreover, she foments the very problem that GLSEN seeks to address with remarks about "homosexual activity and gender confusion." Higgins would have people believe (in defiance of science and common sense) that there are no gay people; Just people who engage in a form of sex that she disapproves of, Additionally, according to Higgins, there are no transgender children. These are people who could be "healed" of their confusion through copious prayer. This is the asinine nonsense that she would propagate in our nation's classrooms if she could.

There is nothing sinister or opaque in GLSEN's agenda. The gay community would be perfectly content if gay children were treated fairly in school. In some locales that includes not having the crap beat out of them on a daily basis. If there is a God, the self-righteous Ms. Higgins will have much to atone for.

Meanwhile we can take some solace in the fact that Higgins and her ilk are on the losing end of progressive cultural awareness with respect to (and for) LGBT citizens. Higgins' home state is an equal marriage state; Something that she and IFI were unsuccessful in preventing in spite of their considerable efforts.
