An increasingly irrelevant Brian Brown struggling for importance

At National Organization for Marriage, Brian Brown has a new post title Why I Think We'll Win? Therein is the usual misleading and hyperbolic lead-up to the usual money-beg:
Although it has been a mild summer, things are heating up in the fight to defend marriage.
In just a few months, we will be facing a potential turning point in the political arena, as NOM will be working with many other groups to retake the United States Senate and hold politicians accountable to you, the voters, for their policy positions related to the institution of marriage.

And a few short months after that, NOM will be leading the charge to make a national statement that will be heard around the country and the world as the United States Supreme Court likely hears arguments in a case that could well become the Roe v Wade of marriage.

But here's the thing about that potential case: this time around, we have a very good chance to WIN!

Won't you please help NOM gear up for the November elections and pending litigation with a generous donation of $35, $50, $100 or even $500 right away?

Even if Republicans take control of the Senate, what possible difference is that going to make for the United States Supreme Court? Furthermore, what contribution to that effort could NOM make?

Then, Brown is claiming that NOM will somehow influence the outcome at the Supreme Court. Here is the same Brian Brown on April 17, 2013.
The United States Supreme Court is deliberating two historic cases relating to marriage. It's no exaggeration to say that the Supreme Court's decision in the next few months will alter the future course of our society... for better, or for worse.

And although I could not be more confident in the superb work being done by the legal team defending marriage in both the Prop 8 and DOMA cases, I also understand the critical role that ordinary citizens like you and me play in helping defend marriage at this crucial juncture.
 How about May 1, 2013?
I'm writing to you today, not to discourage, but to remind you that we are standing on the verge of a tremendous victory for marriage in America! ...

In the next eight weeks — and perhaps even sooner — the Supreme Court will issue its rulings in the Prop 8 and DOMA cases... and we are poised to win our greatest victory for marriage ever!
One thing is noticeably missing. A year ago there were always matching donors. That is no longer the case. Does that indicate that the big money is gone?

And by the way, this is not Roe v. Wade! Same opponents including the Catholic Church but entirely different controversy. Same-sex marriage is harmless. There are no consequences. What? Sidewalk counselors screaming “Don't marry that man — you will end up in hell!”? Seriously?
