After six months of vitriol, Bill Donohue is relegated to a single paragraph summary of his enterprise

Bill Donohue, a divorced man, is the Official Unofficial United States Apologist for the Roman Catholic Church. Now that gays can march under their own banner in next spring's New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, Blowhard Bill summarizes things in one paragraph:
Never in the history of New York’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade have homosexuals been barred from marching, anymore than pro-life Catholics have, but in both cases they were not permitted to have their own unit. I have been assured that the rules have been formally changed to allow both of these groups, as well as others, to march under their own banner. That being the case, there should be no controversy. One would hope that all the new entries will conduct themselves in a manner that honors St. Patrick, lest another round of controversy emerges.

Bill has been “assured?” Is he suggesting that he has been for inclusion all along? Seriously? For the last six months Bill has devoted much of his energy to a failed boycott of Guiness (and other breweries) because they ceased their  sponsorship of the parade. It was also last March that Donohue wrote, Gays Bent on Crashing St. Patrick's Day Parade for right wing Newsmax.

Donohue has been a consistently bigoted, anti-gay, voice. For years he has been blaming priestly sexual abuse on homosexual perversion (intentionally obfuscating the important distinctions between homosexuality and pedophilia). Ordinarily I would say that Blowhard Bill needs a new hobby. However, this one paid him more than $475,000 in 20012.
