Liberty Counsel on SCOTUS - "a total dereliction of duty"

Liberty Counsel issued a press release today regarding the Supreme Court's decision not to take up the five marriage cases before it. Their summary:
This is a total dereliction of duty. The Supreme Court abandoned its duty to take up or at least hold these marriage cases. The responsibility for the undermining of marriage rests solely at the U.S. Supreme Court.
The “undermining of marriage?” Perhaps LC's Mat Staver can explain precisely how his, or any other marriage, is “undermined. ” They go on to hawk the 2004 book, authored by Mat Staver, titled “Same-Sex Marriage: Putting Every Household at Risk.” Really? They go on to explain:

Anyone who cares about the future of our society should read this book. Children are among those most affected by same-sex marriage. This book discusses the impact same-sex marriage has on the culture and gives you real answers to the central questions surrounding this important issue.
The only kids affected by same-sex marriage are those who are being raised by same-sex couples — that ship has sailed. Those children (who are officially disadvantaged by state bans) clearly benefit in many ways from having married parents.

Note: Liberty Counsel has been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
