NOM hits the 'previous channel' button

Just two days after claiming to have single-handedly changed control of the United States Congress, National Organization for Marriage is back in their judicial hole. As a proxy for the Catholic Church, the latest press release reads; “National Organization for Marriage Calls on Kansas and Missouri To Appeal Same-Sex Marriage Rulings; Urges Gov. Nixon To Intervene To Seek Stay of Missouunwilling to accept the obvious; Tri Court Ruling.”

Brian Brown and the rest of the folks at NOM are oblivious to the fact that they have lost their battle to ban same-sex marriage. National marriage equality has never been more inevitable irrespective of which political party controls the US Senate. It is a stark reality for the true believers. Brown continues with the usual victimization at the hands of activist judges:
Once again we see judges imposing their views of marriage in violation of the law and the overwhelming decision of state voters to preserve marriage in the law as it exists in reality, the union of one man and one woman.
Surely Mr. Brown knows that all lawmakers (in this case the people) are subjected to judicial review with respect to the constitutionality of the laws that they craft. That review has not gone well. The very fact that the US Supreme Court, by a vote of at least 6 to 3, lifted its stays and allowed same-sex marriage to proceed should convey a message — even one that Mr. Brown understands. That, however, is a message that he refuses to hear.

Truth, you see, is found in law rather than the ancient texts of one particular religion.
