Brian Brown threatens ... something to CNN

Brian S. Brown
According to CNN today:
Opponents of same-sex marriage, however, argue that anyone who thinks the fight will slowly die down is highly misguided. Brian Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage, said a Supreme Court decision that reverses same-sex marriage bans will be "a frontal assault on the religious liberty of all Americans."

"There are going to be profound consequences," he said. "If the Supreme Court rules, it will be just like Roe v. Wade all over again."
“All Americans?” Aside from the fact that most Americans support marriage equality, the overwhelming majority of Americans do not agree that religious liberty includes a right to discriminate. Most everyone understands that baking a cake is not some sort of holy sacrament; Not exactly doing God's work.

The second quote fairly depicts NOM's plight. Outside of conservative Catholic circles, they can no longer reasonably claim that same-sex marriage will end civilization as we know it. People are now saying “Has that happened in Massachusetts?” when they hear the absurd claims. Brown is now saying that the consequences are that some people will vehemently disagree with the Court. Seriously?

Aside from the fact that the Court should not be concerned with the popularity if its decisions, same-sex marriage enjoys general acceptance by our citizens and likening same-sex marriage to Roe v. Wade is absurd. Comparable passion doesn't exist because marriage equality only affects the participants.
