Rick Santorum to Join Tony Perkins for Some Fear Mongering

Rick Santorum
If you think that a former U.S. senator would distance himself from a certified anti-gay hate group you would be wrong. According to Tony Perkins, head of the anti-gay hate group Family Research Council:
Family Research Council is partnering with EchoLight Studios to host a one night only screening of EchoLight's inaugural docudrama "One Generation Away." EchoLight Studios CEO Rick Santorum and Family Research Council President Tony Perkins will co-host the simulcast that will reach churches nationwide.
Bullshit. One Generation Away seems to be a re-release of AFA's A Time to Speak. The only difference in the packaging is that EchoLight is the distributor of the newer version. Even then the new video has been around for awhile. A church could simply purchase the DVD for 15 bucks.

In summary, with some supposition, AFA made a video that they could not get rid of. To sell the thing they changed the title to look like a new video and made it look like it was produced by Rick Santorum when, in fact, his company is just the new distributor. They don't give conservative Christians much credit for their intelligence.

As for the video, the new title is a play on Ronald Reagan's “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Of course this opus is focused on religious freedom which, in part, means the freedom to discriminate against others in public accommodations.

Respect for the free exercise clause of the First Amendment is as strong as it has ever been. The decision in the Hobby Lobby case (which I strongly disagree with) is evidence of that fact. What is really in jeopardy; What is really eroding is respect for the establishment clause. Same-sex marriage bans and “license to discriminate” bills seem to respect an establishment of religion.
