"DEPORT HIS ASS!" Unless ...

Making the rounds in right wing Christian circles is a petition in opposition to the deportation of Mennonite pastor (in training) Max Villatoro. According to Fox News Villatoro, 41, is now sitting in detention and facing deportation. He was among the more than 2,000 people arrested last week as part of a five-day nationwide operation, nicknamed "Cross Check," targeting convicted criminals living in the country illegally.

Villatoro has a 1999 conviction for “tampering with records,” for trying to obtain a driver’s license illegally and a 1998 DWE (presumably without a diver's license as well).

The Christian right has been vociforous in their opposition to the Obama administration's immigration policies, usually incorrectly referring to them as “amnesty.” But it's OK to harbor an illegal immigrant with two felony convictions because he shares your religious beliefs?
