'Ex-gay' crackpots start Change.org petition for presidential recognition

Run by Anne Paulk, Restored Hope Network is the fringe remnant of the now defunct Exodus, International. The only thing that Paulk wants “restored” is her bank account. This organization is a referral network to grifters who take money from hopelessly misled, and already victimized, gay people. Now, according to an email from Paulk, they have started a Change.org petition authored by Janet Boynes. It reads, in part:
[President Obama] Hear the voices of those who have left the homosexual lifestyle.

In your victory speech on 11.5.08 as reported by the New York Times, you stated, “And for those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight; but I hear your voices. I need your help, and I will be your President, too.”

Sadly, Mr. President, you have not carried out your promise. For those of us who have left the homosexual lifestyle, you have never listened to us. …
The petition has about 600 signers as of Wednesday morning.

Every so-called “ex-gay” that we meet has an economic interest in claiming to be ex-gay. Janet Boynes is no exception. While her Janet Boynes Ministries is unknown to the Internal Revenue Service it has the endorsement of every anti-gay whack job from Bachmann to Perkins. She solicits donations (without a tax disclaimer) and sells her book. Read more about Boynes at Truth Wins Out.

I have flagged the petition with Change.org as it violates their community standards.
