The Sob Sister of Sodom is begging for monthly donors

Brian S. Brown

Sure Bri. People are going to fall all over themselves to commit to a monthly bill-pay to National Organization for Marriage. After all, NOM has been so successful. Brown has no shame and that is precisely what he is begging people to do in today's email blast titled "In Good Times and Bad."

You would think that Brian Brown could take a hint that whatever they are doing doesn't work. Yet they stick with the same idiotic rhetoric. Behold:
Like any relationship, our work in support of marriage occurs through good times and in bad, when the wind is at our back and when it is in our face. Some challenges are harder than others, some circumstances present unexpected opportunities. Because NOM is not funded by Wall Street billionaires and huge corporations (unlike those who oppose traditional marriage) we rely on you and thousands of others to sustain our work.
That is untrue. NOM has been funded by some very wealthy people. One of their (presumed) biggest donors is Sean Fieler and apparently he is a "Wall Street billionaire." NOM also has the backing of the Catholic Church and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. Furthermore, nobody opposes traditional marriage. It is stupid to assert otherwise.
I am asking you to consider making a sustaining contribution to NOM each month of $25, $35, $50 or even $100 — whatever you can prayerfully afford. Knowing that we will be able to count on your support no matter the current crisis or opportunity will be a great benefit. It will allow us to more effectively plan our work, and stay within budget.
Recurring donors can be used to beef up financial statements (as we get closer to year end) and might induce their bank to provide some working capital.

NOM doesn't really do anything except to ask for money so that they can go on asking for money. They sure don't accomplish a damned thing. In a few weeks we will see what 2014 looked like as they file their 990 with the IRS. That should be interesting.
