Head of Russian Orthodox Church blames gays for rise of ISIS

According to Patriarch Kirill I of Moscow (Vladimir Mikhailovich Gundyayev)
head of the Russian Orthodox Church , the rise of ISIS can be attributed to the acceptance of homosexuality. Oh my.

According to an article in Christian Today, the religious leader claims that Muslims are now flocking to join ISIS because they want to escape the “godless civilization” that celebrates immorality such as gay pride parades.

[ISIS] is creating a civilization that is new by comparison to the established one that is godless, secular, and even radical in its secularism. … We can have parades for the sexual minorities—that is supported—but a million French Christian protesters defending family values are broken up by police … Look how they [the West] build the world—an unholy world—but we invite you to build God's world … and they [ISIS supporters] respond to that; it is for this they give their lives.
According to CT, he goes on to argue that, because there are some people who want to restore order and uphold religious views, they turn to ISIS, thinking erroneously that the terror group can make things right again.

So we can add ISIS to the list of things we get blamed for that includes hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, drought, famine, blizzards and more. In all candor I would blame superstition for retarding the progress of civilization, for fostering child abuse, for creating a mountain of junk science and for not treating fellow human beings as they should be treated.

ISIS are Sunni Muslims who originally comprised Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia (Iraq). They existed to fight the change of power to the majority Shi'ite Muslims. Their quarrel is over who is the successor to their prophet. They now exist to create a world-wide ultra-conservative Islamic state. They are killing people because of their superstitions which, again in all candor, I find rather silly.

There is only a hair's difference between Patriarch Kirill I of Moscow (who appropriates the style of a monarch) and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The ISIS leader advocates more violence but the religious zealotry, ignorance and irrationality is about the same.
