Let us dissect an email that I received from Family Research Council promoting a mobile phone company know as Eos:
Your phone company has already decided who they will be supporting - Hillary Clinton. Between them the major phone companies have given hundreds of millions to elect more than 10,000 liberals to public office and they were large supporters of Hillary when she ran against Obama in 2008.That is a rather dubious claim. Since the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United corporations can funnel unlimited amounts of money to independent election efforts and do so anonymously. I doubt that Mr. Perkins can substantiate that claim with specifics. Moreover, Eos=Sprint (see below). Are they not a “major phone company?”
They do this because liberals have authorized BILLIONs in government handouts like the Free "ObamaPhone" program that provides cellphones to anyone on government assistance.Please. This is utter nonsense. What is called Lifeline Assistance started in 1996 and Grew under President Bush. Cell phones started to be distributed in 2008. Obama took office in 2009 so initially they were “BushPhones.”
Furthermore, most major cell phone companies today, like AT&T and Verizon, take a portion of your hard-earned money and donate directly to anti-family, anti-life organizations like Planned Parenthood.Again, I would like to see Perkins substantiate that including a comparison to Sprint.
There is just one phone company that shares the values of Family Research Council Action. Eos Mobile supports their mission of Faith, Family and Freedom with 5% of every dollar you spend on your montly <sic> phone bill being donated directly to support Family Research Council Action. The truth is that they are paying FRC Action a couple of bucks each month for selling the service. As for those conservative values Eos is actually an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that uses Sprint's network. Much (if not most) of what Eos collects from subscribers goes to Sprint. Sprint has a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign (for the 10th straight year). I have no idea about Sprint's current political contributions and neither does Mr. Perkins. Does Sprint give any money to Planned Parenthood? Who knows? Tony doesn't.
