The Barronelle Stutzman traveling road show - and the "third sex" GOPer

Barronelle Stutzman
Barronelle Stutzman, the discriminatory Washington State florist who refused to sell flowers for a same-sex wedding is on tour with ADF. This week they were in Topeka to testify before the Kansas House Federal and State Affairs Committee. Alliance Defending Freedom, the radical Christian right legal group, has authored the boilerplate for most of the anti-gay bills that red state legislatures are currently considering.

Stutzman wanted some attention and she got it. She could have settled this matter for an insignificant sum but, as I said, she wants attention. ADF is exploiting her personality disorder.

Kellie Fiedorek, Stutzman's ADF lawyer/escort, cynically declined to endorse any specific measures when pressed by lawmakers. Hopefully our folks on the ground and HRC are working to prevent an inevitable “religious freedom” bill which means the freedom to refuse service to people one disapproves of — all nicely cloaked in scripture. We beat one back in 2014 in Kansas.

Meanwhile we are a third sex!

Kansas Rep. Dick Jones
That's right. The douche bag at the right, Republican Kansas Rep. Dick Jones, said on Wednesday at that same committee hearing that gay people represent a “third sex” because of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges that nullified state same-sex marriage bans. According to the Sage of Topeka:
The Supreme Court has, in fact, established a third sex for all intents and purposes. So there’s male and female and gay … And they have brought on all of the elements of equality as they probably should have for that. But we must not forget that gay is strictly a sexual preference … It’s not a separate sex. But until we get the public to accept that, your desire to live in your Christian ethic, I think, is practically doomed, and I’m sorry to say that.
The most remarkable part of this might be that his constituents determined that he was the more eloquent candidate when the time came to cast ballots. Oh, and he serves on the Health and Human Services committee.
