This schmuck thinks that trying to marry his laptop will undo Obergefell (updated - CASE DISMISSED)

Chris Sevier
Chris Sevier (Mark Christopher Sevier) isn't going to be able to marry his laptop and he sure as Hell is not going to reverse the Supreme Court's ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges. Yet, this religious crackpot is making the effort at considerable taxpayer expense. He is suing Harris County district clerk, Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton for denying him the right to marry his Mac.

Sevier's argument is that if two people of the same sex can marry that anyone with any attraction should be able to marry whatever they are attracted to even if that is an inanimate object constructed mostly of plastic.

Sevier, a lawyer, has now filed the same lawsuit in three states and plans to do so in several more. In Texas, Ken Paxton (far from a friend of the gay community) has filed a motion to have the case dismissed. Where is the money coming from to do this?

Turns out that Sevier's law license in Tennessee is suspended. There was a petition for discipline filed in 2010. In 2011 he was placed on disabled status. He has to show the Tennessee Supreme Court “clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and that he is fit to resume the practice of law.” It doesn't appear that he has done so.

This guy is so fucked up that he shows his Nashville address on the cover sheet and then claims to be a citizen of Texas. It is possible but highly improbable. His total filing is close to 400 pages. I pass.
