Pro-gay group concerned about "recruitment" of transgender children? Probably not

According to the Christian Post, a supposedly pro-gay, left leaning group of professionals is concerned that “vulnerable children are being recruited online to believe they are transgender and mental health professionals are affirming the belief of these victims.” The group calls itself Youth Trans Critical Professionals and according to its website:
We are a group of professionals concerned about the trend toward medical intervention for gender dysphoric youth which is going largely unquestioned in the mainstream media.

Our concern is with medical transition for children and youth. We feel that unnecessary surgeries and/or hormonal treatments which have not been proven safe in the long-term represent significant risks for young people. Such treatments can result in permanent sterilization of a child or young person.

Who the fuck are these people?

We do not know. Any reference to recruiting automatically rings an alarm. In response to a comment questioning credentials on their site they write:
Given the current climate, it doesn’t feel safe to speak on this issue using names at this time. I can say that I am a psychotherapist with 20 years experience. Other professionals in different disciplines will be contributing here soon. As for citations, I do link to articles that back up things that I have said where research is involved. Much of what I share is my opinion. I think my assertion that it is best to be cautious about sending young people down the road to surgery and hormones needs no attribution. It is common sense.
Psychotherapist is ambiguous and it depicts nothing about academic credentials but this person is probably not a psychiatrist (an MD) and he or she knows little about hormones. On their home page they link to a February, 2015 article from Third Way Trans written by someone who is, … anonymous.

They have even managed to collect $3,305 from a gofundme campaign. Hell, if anonymous people can collect money then I should be able to … Nah. I would not do that.

As for the Christian Post, aside from giving credibility to an anonymous group, they cite a warning from the American College of Pediatricians which is a minuscule group of religious fundamentalists that the SPLC designates as an anti-gay hate group. The real professional organization is the American Academy of Pediatrics.
