Five years ago it was repealed

Manhattan Kansas
In May of 2011, the city council of Manhattan Kansas stripped its nondiscrimination ordinance of protections for LGBT citizens. I am pleased to note that this week a new ordinance was passed unanimously. It protects LGBT citizens from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation.

One odd accommodation however was granted in the form of an exemption to the Riley County Police Department. I have contacted the public information officer who is researching the matter (it is a large department). I will update this post if I receive more information.
