NOM: "Groundbreaking Study Destroys 'Born That Way' Myth"

National Organization for Marriage NOMnuts
I am tired of writing about the Lawrence Mayer/Paul McHugh article published to New Atlantis, an ultra-conservative Catholic outlet. It was not a study; It was a literature review. It is not peer reviewed; It is a lengthy blog post/editorial. But that doesn't stop Brian Brown from repeating nonsense. Most normal, rational people have moved on from this meme that was popular maybe 20 years from now. Brian Brown is neither normal nor rational:
As you may recall, I told you recently about a groundbreaking study released a few weeks ago by the independent journal The New Atlantis that completely undercuts the foundation of the LGBT agenda, which has sought to convince people that gays and lesbians are "born that way." The report also explodes the gender ideology movement, showing the falsehood of claims that people can be "trapped in the wrong body" or that gender is somehow different from biological sex and can be changed based on someone's feelings and "identity."
There is nothing “groundbreaking” in a literature review that has not been subjected to peer review. Those are mutually exclusive conditions. This article was posted on August 22 — more than a month ago. Strangely enough none of the many professional organizations has changed its findings regarding sexual orientation or gender identity. Indeed most of the articles conclusions are at odds with their own professional organizations. Brown continues.
LGBT extremists are in panic mode because they fully realize that if the truth of human sexuality comes to be known and understood by the American people, their political movement will be damaged. They will have a much harder time pushing their ideology on children in the public schools, and it will be much more difficult to convince judges to impose their agenda on the American people.
No one is in a panic. The reason is quite simple. Every gay and transgender person in America knows the truth from personal experience.
The LGBT lobby and their allies in the media are hoping that this critical new report will just be ignored, but we are determined to work to publicize it so that the American people can assess the situation for themselves.
It is not a “report” either. The entire Catholic network can publicize, or attempt to publicize, this nonsense. I am sure that it plays well in Breitbart. However, research that has not been subjected to peer review is junk science per se unless proved otherwise. This is particularly true with respect to a literature review because of the potential for selective observation.
We've put together a short video highlighting and summarizing some of the key findings of the report, and I hope you'll take two minutes to watch it now.
I am sure that it is simply astonishing in its informational and production values. I even gave it a clean link. Have fun.
