If the intent of Log Cabin Republicans is, as they say, to work to make the Republican Party more inclusive, how can they do that without condemning Trump's support of homophobic legislation in order to pander to conservative Catholics? Do they honestly believe that their tax dollars should support discriminatory employers?
What line must he cross?
Trump has said that he does not support marriage equality; he has promised to nominate judges who are hostile to our interests and might roll back Obergefell; Trump has voiced full support for North Carolina's HB2; and now this. Just how anti-LGBT does Trump have to be before Log Cabin Republicans takes a stand?Taking a stand requires courage which seems to be in short supply at Log Cabin. What will it take before Log Cabin denounces Mr. Trump? Precisely how much more homophobic must he be. Does Log Cabin even have a red line?
