You would think that by now Peter LaBarbera would stop breaking the law

On October 3, 2015 the IRS notified hate group leader Peter LaBarbera that his Americans for Truth About Homosexuality was no longer tax exempt effective May 15, 2015. This is at least the second time that the IRS has taken this action. Presumably, LaBarbera is not sufficiently organized to file returns (990s). One wonders if payroll taxes have been paid (quarterly 941s). But I digress.

AFTAH is not tax exempt. Ergo donations are not tax deductible. It is possible that the Service will restore tax exempt status retroactively but it would appear that LaBarbera has still not complied by getting his returns filed after almost a year. There is no notice on AFTAH's site. Therefore, donors assume that they can write off their gift which means that we are all subsidizing an ineligible recipient.

Peter LaBarbera and his little hate group are irrelevant. He is certainly not influential but that's not the point. The good Christian is now a grifter.
