Newly married Edie Windsor says she will move to Barcelona if Trump wins

Edie Windsor
Eighty-seven-year-old Edie Windsor is truly a hero. Windsor did not require the ruling in United States v. Windsor. The internal revenue service had already conceded the point regarding her inheritance from her wife, Thea Spyer, who died in 2009. Who could have blamed her for dropping the matter? Windsor pushed the case which eviscerated the Defense of Marriage Act and set the stage for national marriage equality by virtue of Obergefell v. Hodges. I wager that Jim Obergefell never knew that so many people could competently spell his last name.

The New York Times has reported that Windsor and Judith Kasen, 51, a vice president at Wells Fargo Advisors, were married last week at New York's City Hall. The newly wed couple has also said that they are “contemplating a four-year move to Barcelona,” should Donald Trump become president following November's elections.
