Russia wants to ban video game for 'promoting homosexuality'

FIFA 17
When it comes to video games I am out of my depth. I never got much past Pac-Man. Nevertheless I am informed that there is a wildly popular soccer game called FIFA 17.

Some Russian members of parliament seem to believe that it turns kids gay. I wonder if they have quantified this with the playing time required to go from heterosexual to homosexual? Does it vary with age? As a raging capitalist I am also wondering why no one has come up with a comparable game that turns gay kids straight.

Those MPs wrote a letter to the state communications oversight and state consumer protection bureaus asking them to investigate whether the game violated 2013 laws against gay propaganda. EA Sports, which publishes the game, made a rainbow kit available last month which allows a player to field a team of LGBT-supporting players.
