Most Americans are opposed to "religious freedom" exemptions to nondiscrimination laws

Non-partisan, non-profit PRRI surveyed 40,509 adults throughout 2016. Participants were asked if they favored or opposed small business owners having the right to turn away gay people if providing goods or services violated their religious beliefs. 30% favored religious exemptions. 61% opposed such discrimination cloaked as religious freedom.
