“There is no reason a child in Kentucky, who is ready to be adopted, should be without a family,” Bevin said in a statement. “We have to rethink the way we do foster care in this state, and Dan Dumas is just the visionary to help lead that charge.”
Dumas has no experience whatsoever in child welfare and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary is rabidly homophobic. Dumas' qualifications (or lack thereof) are a master's of divinity degree from the ultra-conservative Master's Seminary in Los Angeles and a BA from Criswell College, a Baptist school in Dallas. Dumas was a pastor before joining the seminary in 2007. In other words, he has never held a real job and has no applicable education. In fact he has no secular education or experience.
It seems likely that gay couples will be marginalized as part of the “reforms.” What could possibly go wrong?
