Detention warrants were issued Friday for four senior staff at a pro-secular opposition newspaper. The warrants against the nationalist Sozcu newspaper’s owner and three others were for committing crimes on behalf of the network of U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen without being members. Apparently criticism is a crime.
Sozcu is a staunch supporter of the secular legacy of Turkey’s founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and a sharp critic of Turkey’s president and government.
We get it Mr. Trump. These are the powers that you think you should have. So far our democracy seems stronger than your desire to engender only praise from the media.
Now out brat-in-chief is headed to Saudi Arabia. What could possibly go wrong?
