The Bishops and the Hate Group

Kellie Fiedorek
Kellie Fiedorek, a “lawyer” with the hate group, Alliance Defending Freedom, has made a video for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. It is fitting in that Kellie Marie Fiedorek is a graduate of that tower of critical thinking — Ave Maria Law. Fiedorek has probably been in Catholic education since grammar school. That might explain why this little video is such an insidious bit of LGBT hate. She likely believes that gay people are “objectively disordered” and that gender dysphoria is a myth.

Presumably, the bishops are intentionally obfuscating the fact that Fiedorek works for a hate group. There is no mention of ADF anywhere. According to the bishops:
In this clip, Kellie Fiedorek says something common-sense that seems to be missing in today’s discourse. The virtue of tolerance is precisely the virtue of “putting up with” someone or something that is not good (from your perspective). You don’t “tolerate” an ice cream sundae; You don’t “tolerate” your closest friend, unless at that moment they are doing that thing that drives you crazy. Tolerance is part of love, but only because we live in such an imperfect world. We will not have to “tolerate” one another in heaven.

But today, it seems we cannot even do that. The Church’s beliefs about marriage and about the best home for children is being regarded as hateful or discriminatory. (A big thank you to those states who have passed laws to protect religious adoption and foster care agencies!)

As Pope Benedict XVI pointed out, “In the name of tolerance, tolerance is being abolished.” He speaks of how the Church is being prevented from being herself, “and that, instead, an abstract, negative religion is being made into a tyrannical standard that everyone must follow.”

Don’t we see this happening today in America?
Because, after all, we are so intolerable. The word tolerance has several meanings. It also means “acceptance.” However, it is usually used in the form of “intolerance” or “intolerant.” Example: The Catholic prelates are intolerant of LGBT people because their existence is at odds with scripture. These men are celibates, many of whom lack applicable relationship experience. They also lack training in medicine or psychology which makes them unqualified to assess matters concerning human sexuality.

While they set themselves up for ridicule, true believers are obedient to the whims of these ambitious priests. Parents listen to this nonsense and they believe every utterance. It makes life for LGBT kids more difficult. As far as I am concerned the USCCB is another hate group.

Careful where you step. You don't want to mar any of the silk garments or the Gucci loafers worn by pampered men who have taken a vow of poverty.
