Hate Group Leader's Diatribe Claims That We are All Liars

Biran S. Brown
The latest email from Brian S. Brown, president of International Organization for the Family, is titled “It's Never Just That... ” Apparently the entire progressive population of the United States is participating in some grand conspiracy to mislead Christian conservatives. According to Mr. Misadventure:
Dear Friend — There's one thing that the left is extremely good at – assuring people that their extreme agenda is actually very modest and won't have any impact beyond helping some sympathetic group of people. There are so many examples of this:
  • It's said that gay "marriage" won't impact anyone except loving same-sex couples who want to commit their lives to each other;
  • We’re told that assisted suicide is a compassionate alternative for terminally ill patients suffering horrible pain;
  • They tell us that every child deserves a safe learning environment and that "safe schools" will prevent bullying;
  • And we're told that abortion must remain available to all because no woman should have to carry a pregnancy when her health or very life is in jeopardy.
So let's see:
  • Same-sex marriage only affects those thus wed.
  • Assisted suicide is a compassionate alternative and is subject exclusively to the consent of the patient.
  • Actually the claim is that safe schools are those which help to prevent bullying.
  • Actually, reproductive choice is based on more than the life of the mother. Women need to have control of their own bodies. Roe v. Wade is certainly not limited to the health of the mother or rape or incest.
According to Brown:
But they are all lies. It’s never just what the left says it is. All of these policies are extremely damaging to society, and they all undermine the natural family.
As long as we are supposedly on a truth spree, Brown should admit that his real problem is nonconformity with the doctrine of the Catholic Church. The Church disapproves of all these things and in Brown's perfect theocracy none would exist. At the heart of Brown's jeremiad is this:
The reality is that once gay 'marriage' is instituted, anyone who disagrees pays the price when they are targeted for lawsuits, government fines, loss of their business and damage to their reputation by ugly claims of "bigotry," "homophobia," and "discrimination." Contrary to helping the terminally ill in horrible pain, assisted suicide is increasingly being conducted on people who have no illness, let alone a terminal one; they are simply old, lonely and depressed people. "Safe School" movements have become code for the promotion of the LGBT agenda, including opening intimate areas of schools to members of the opposite sex who claim a "gender identity" at odds with their biological sex. And aborting a baby to "protect the mother's health" can be a ruse used to perform an abortion when the mother feels anxiety, stress or experiences some other emotional issue unrelated to any significant risk to her physical health.
One at a time. Long before the Supreme Court ruled in Obergefell v. Hodges states and municipalities enacted nondiscrimination laws that protect gay people. Just because someone disapproves of gay people does not mean that they can break the law and refuse service. They might disapprove of interracial or interfaith marriages as well. These laws were passed and enacted by the elected representatives of the people. If the sanctimonious set is so determined to demonstrate their disapproval they can express their displeasure at the polls.

The Supreme Court is going to settle this issue in the next term. It has agreed to hear the case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado. I suspect that the Court will do the right thing which will give Brown cause to complain — and ask for more money to accomplish nothing. If it doesn't go our way there are economic levers that will offer alternatives. It is not a matter of “disagreement.” We are a society of laws and Christians do not get to pick and choose which laws they like. The are not entitled to Christian Privilege.

I do not know who is electing suicide. Mr. Brown and the Catholic Church don't get a say. Brown has not spoken with anyone prior to their death in order to understand their suffering. I have no idea where he came up with the idea that these are people “who have no illness.”

“Safe School” advocacy is based on not tolerating bullying of an kind. Given that gay kids disproportionately suffer from being bullied it can be confused with LGBT advocacy but it is not. If Brown and his ilk would stop preaching hate there would be less need for safe school programs. As for transgender kids, they are just that. They are children whose gender is incongruent with their natal sex. Brown's angst is the product of the Church's persistence, in spite of overwhelming scientific evidence to the contrary, that trans people do not really exist. If they do then the Church disapproves of them so the mindless Brown disapproves of them as well.

Abortion is not contingent on the mother's health. Roe v. Wade imposes no such limitation. Women are entitled to an abortion without providing any reason at all. It is a matter between them and their doctor and it is their constitutional right. Brown is implying that women who seek abortions are inherently dishonest based upon a false construct. The Church does not approve of abortions or contraceptives. Brown is predisposed accordingly.

I am quite certain that you all know where this is headed:
It takes courage to fight back against these falsehoods and counter popular cultural beliefs. That's what the International Organization for the Family (IOF) does, day in and day out, all across the globe.
Some gratuitous bashing of George Soros precedes the gimme. The point is that Brown's message is not written to inform. Rather it is written with the intent of angering people on the premise that they will then donate money to Brown's hate group. It is why Brown lies about lies. That makes Mr. Brown a homophobic and transphobic bigot. If he doesn't like the labels he can adjust his behavior.
