A gem of a comment from Tony Perkins in support of Roy Moore

commenced. The disgraced jurist was removed from the bench.
Hate group leader Tony Perkins (Family Research Council) had this to say for Breitbart on Tuesday:
Family Research Council president Tony Perkins says former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore will provide the kind of “bold leadership” America needs.

“Over the years Judge Moore has proven he is willing to stand up for our Constitution and fight for the rights of the people,” Perkins said in a statement released by Moore’s campaign. “From working with him and evaluating his record as a public servant, FRC Action PAC believes he will provide needed leadership on important issues in the U.S. Senate.”
  • Really? Did Roy Moore stand up for the Constitution when he disregarded the precedence established in Marbury v. Madison (judicial review making the Court the final arbiter of the Constitution) when he instructed clerks to disregard the Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges?
  • Did Moore stand up for the Constitution when he disregarded the ruling in Cooper v. Aaron which held that states are bound by the Supremacy Clause to obey the rulings of the Court?
  • Did Moore stand up for the Constitution when he told subordinates that they had a ministerial duty not to license same-sex marriage after the Court ruled in Obergefell v. Hodges? How does that manufactured duty comport with the Establishment Clause?
  • And when it comes to the “rights of the people” with Moore that does not seem to include gay people. What about their rights? Does standing up for the Constitution mean all of it or just the parts that Moore likes?
  • When the Supreme Court ruled that bans against same-sex marriage were unconstitutional that settled the issue. Moore did not like the ruling. So is it the rights of the people or just the rights of the people Roy Moore approves of?
  • Finally, when it comes to the leadership that Perkins refers to, what kind of leadership did Roy Moore demonstrate with conduct as Alabama's chief justice that eventually caused him to be removed from the bench — a second time?
  • Was Moore's dreadful legal scholarship demonstrative of leadership?
It is Alabama after all so I expect that Moore will replace Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III. Nevertheless, Moore is a disgrace and Perkins is his shameless pimp.
