The Christian dishonesty of raising funds off of Jack Phillips

National Organization for Marriage and Family Research Council are claiming that donating to their organizations will have some effect on the outcome of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. I am certain that other Christian organizations are making similar claims.

Brian S. Brown (NOM) writes “Help Needed to Support Critical Religious Liberty Case.” Brian S. Brown is a liar.

Jerry Boykin (FRC) writes “If you and I don't fight for Jack, who will?” Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin is a liar.

Both organizations have submitted amicus briefs in this case at minimal or no expense. Oral argument is scheduled for December 5. Alliance Defending Freedom, attorneys for Masterpiece Cakeshop, have already incurred most of their expenses. Their costs will come to an end with their appearance at the Court. At this point this cake has been baked. Oral argument is icing and then it is done.

The bottom line is that no donation to NOM or FRC will have any effect on the outcome of the case. It is amazing to me Just how easily these folks lie while, at the same time, proclaiming their extreme Christian piety. Apparently that “false witness” thing is meaningless in spite of the fact that these same self-righteous people claim that their book is the literal and inerrant word of their god. Sanctimony and greed are not mutually exclusive,

It is hypocrisy at its finest. The convenience of selective observation.
