In November I wrote about Lane's funding. The Heavenly Father's Foundation (founded by Dan Wilks) donates money to American Family Association which, in turn, provides it to the American Renewal Project. I failed to consider a very simple question: Why doesn't Wilks simply give the money to Lane's group?

Furthermore, the way that the donation is described suggests that Pastors and Pews is a 501(c)3. It is not. In fact, while ARP is registered in Mississippi as a nonprofit entity, Pastors and Pews doesn't seem to even exist.
One again, the self-righteous, holier-than-thou set presupposes that conservative Christians are exempt from the laws that everyone else must follow. I have made a referral to the Internal Revenue Service. Whether or not that is going to accomplish anything is another matter.
In November I asked the question of whether or not Wilks understands what he is sponsoring. Clearly he does and he is risking serious consequences for doing so. I left a message for someone known only a Pete at the Wilks organization. The call has not been returned.
