Seeking donors, Brian S. Brown describes a futile plan that's not a plan

Brian S. Brown
Communiques from National Organization for Marriage are intended to serve only one purpose: To attract donations. For years, now, Brian S. Brown has told the gullible how great it is going to be. That, along with Trump's wall, never seems to materialize. Today's money-beg is titled: “Our Plan.” What Brown lays out is not a plan at all. He calls it a “comprehensive, integrated Strategic Plan for 2018.” It is not strategic either.

Here is a summary of our mission for 2018

To fight for the restoration of marriage, to secure the protection of Americans to continue to honor marriage as the union of one man and one woman, to educate Americans about the importance of restoring true marriage to our laws and to celebrate the complementarity of the sexes recognizing the unique and irreplaceable contributions that men and women make to human flourishing.
That looks like a cut-and-paste from one of the websites of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Our marriages are as “true” as his. Note the absence of reasoning as he calls for the nullification of marriage equality. It is based entirely on the Catholic Church's disapproval of gay people. Our citizenry isn't buying it.

Then, as expected:
I hope this mission inspires you to continue to support our work. If you are able, please make a financial contribution today, which will be matched dollar for dollar this month thanks to some generous donors.
The above is almost a true statement. Brown certainly does hope that his BS will open wallets. The rest of the plea is about a new website:

You might recall that in December Brown announced with great fanfare his new website: First Freedom Initiative. I did some checking (which I should have done before December's post). Last March Brown also announced the First Freedom Initiative (I guess that Brown cannot keep his own bullshit straight). Back then it was supposed to be a series of videos. It was one and done.

This all concludes with: “Support our Work” with a link to the donation page of NOM's website. As I have said before, Brown has no business experience and no business training. Brown is just throwing out the phrase “strategic plan” with no understanding of what that means. It is more than just a bullet-point of goals (actually wishful thinking).

It involves a plan of how one will achieve those goals. Of course there really is no plan other than to stay alive. Real organizations author plans to define rolls, determine performance metrics as well as the method of measurement and allocate resources. This is only about attracting money.
