Marco Rubio suddenly favors a "Red Flag" law - sort of

Marco Rubio
Some of the things I know about my junior senator, Marco Rubio:
  1. He is not terribly bright.
  2. He hates his job in the Senate.
  3. He ran for Senate only to enhance his presidential ambitions.
  4. He is a crooked Florida politician.
  5. He has accepted over $3.3 million in campaign cash from the NRA.

Marco Rubio is not easily embarrassed but he is constantly evaluating what is best for his future and he is facing renewed and vigorous criticism over his NRA cash. Marco's engine, by the way is bigger than his boat. His ambitions are far greater than his intellect. Now Marco wants to enhance his net positives after the Parkland shooting so he is saying that a Red Flag law is certainly something that the legislature should consider.

A Red Flag law allows family members or law enforcement to ask a judge to strip someone of their gun rights for up to a year; taking their toys away and prohibiting new purchases.

Rubio is also a cynic. He probably discussed this with his buddies at the NRA knowing full well that the Republican-controlled Florida legislature is highly unlikely to pass such a measure. He has gone on the record while knowing that his cash cow is fully protected and in on the joke. Needless to say, the NRA loathes Red Flag laws which are in place in only a handful of states.

Marco doesn't have much respect for the intelligence of Florida voters. Neither do I. After all, they reelected a guy who doesn't want the job except for what it do for him, He and his NRA friends are probably having a good laugh over Rubio's future campaign ad about how he bucked the NRA.

Florida politics are as indecent as a pork chop at a bar mitzvah.
