Even by Washington Times standards...

“These are also the same dopes who do not believe in climate change, claim that tornadoes are caused by same-sex marriage and tout thoroughly discredited conversion therapy.”

Even for the Moonie Daily AKA Washington Times, Cheryl K. Chumley is a standout. Tuesday she writes: Transgenderism is a political figment, not biological truth. That is so spectacularly stupid as to defy comment but I will try.

People become transgender because it is the only known way to mitigate the symptoms of gender dysphoria. The existence of gender dysphoria is an irrefutable scientific fact that has been documented in medical literature for at least 75 years. There is no intervention known to medical science that addresses gender dysphoria.

Some of this should be common sense. No one decides to be transgender just for the hell of it. Why would they? Because they savor religious opprobrium, scorn, ridicule and ignorant attitudes towards them? Chumley has referred to a transgender person as a “he-she.” How wonderfully civil and intelligent.

How Ms. Chumley could deduce that being transgender has anything to do with politics will remain a complete mystery.

Here is a sample of her ignorance:
Allowing little boys to don dresses and grow hair as a means of expressing their inner girl — and then opening females’ locker rooms and bathrooms to these confused souls — is tantamount to child abuse. One of this world’s most basic of truths begins at birth when it’s announced, “Congratulations, you have a boy,” or “Congratulations, you have a girl.”
“Their inner girl?” Children with gender dysphoria are not confused. They are quite certain of their gender. Ms. Chumley is colossally confused. Chumley clearly has a religious problem. If gender dysphoria is severe enough that the kid wants to transition, it is something that is almost impossible to stop.

Imagine the worst itch that you have ever had. It is causing you great suffering. Now imagine someone telling you that scratching the itch is forbidden. That is probably one percent of what a child with severe gender dysphoria endures.

Chumley and others with desires to conform science to religion, or those just carrying water for the Trump administration, are effectively sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting “Nah-Nah-Nah-Nah.” They simply cannot accept the scientific realities of gender. They join the legions of morons who insist that the earth is less than 10,000 years old. They are aligned with the boobs who insist that Darwin got it all wrong.

These are also the same nitwits who do not believe in climate change, claim that tornadoes are caused by same-sex marriage and tout thoroughly discredited conversion therapy. These are the two-watt bulbs who think that the Fed is an international Jewish conspiracy and that President Obama is an illegal immigrant.

Finally, these are the simpletons who persistently claim that they have all the right answers to all of life's questions because a book that began in the Bronze Age tells them so.
