Trans Troop Ban: Appeals Court Ruling Has Limited Effect

Friday, The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit overturned a ruling by a federal judge in Washington, D.C., that blocked Trump's policy banning certain transgender people from serving in the military.

However, other federal courts (outside of DC) have issued rulings that apply nationally. The issue is now before the Supreme Court which must first decide whether or not it will hear the case. The case has been distributed for the January 11 conference which doesn't necessarily mean that it will be reviewed at that time (cases are often re-distributed).

This is a moronic and entirely unnecessary  controversy. All anyone wants is to be judged based on their performance. Trump only did this to pander to evangelical Christians. Their continued support of a pathological liar, serial adulterer and sociopath will permanently damage their reputations. People will always remember hate group leader Tony Perkins' “Mulligan” on Trump's past behavior.

Today, Jerry Boykin of Family Research Council sent out an email to supporters:
"This is a victory for our servicemembers who are tasked with defending America because it allows our military leaders to focus their mission on fighting and winning wars rather than social engineering. The Constitution very clearly delegates to the commander-in-chief the job of running the military -- not the courts.

"The appeals court ruling helps pave the way for President Trump to continue moving the military away from Obama era political correctness which left our nation's defenses at its lowest levels of readiness since before WWII. There is no basis for the courts to take up President Obama's mission to divert taxpayer dollars from mission-critical training to funding for controversial gender reassignment surgeries for service members.

"We trust that other appeals courts reviewing this policy, and the Supreme Court, will agree and leave the responsibility for keeping our military strong and country safe where it belongs -- with our commander-in-chief," concluded Boykin.
Translation" “My god does not approve.” The surgery excuse is nonsense. RAND Corporation reviewed this and concluded that the potential medical expense was inconsequential. The “level of readiness” assertions are without evidence. General Jerry is not exactly an honest broker.
