From Hateful to Simply Stupidly Simple

“ Neither of these fools is trying to help anyone or improve anything.”
Friday. American Family Association, an anti-LGBT hate group, offers: NYC schools: Free to be Melinda on Monday authored by Bob Kellogg. Presumably Kellogg is wed to the proposition that children are raising their hands and volunteering — with great anticipation — to suffer with gender dysphoria.

A medical condition has Bigoted Bob in a tizzy because it conflicts with his ancient texts. Medical science, you see, is obligated to consider Christian scripture in its evaluations:
Students can now easily change their gender, and their legal name, in New York’s public schools.

Breitbart News reports students wishing to do so must get their parents' permission but no legal documentation is required.
So were legal documentation required that would make it all better? And precisely where and how would one obtain that certification? Oh, I see. A pre-teen boy is going to go to school wearing a skirt and change his name from male to female because it seems like a fun thing to do. I suppose that the kid is a masochist who wants to invite ridicule and bullying. And this is done with parental consent. Makes perfect sense to me.
Laurie Higgins with the Illinois Family Institute says the allowance invites confusion in classrooms and potential problems after these students graduate.

"If they are socially transitioning at school, changing their name and their gender on their school records without legal documentation, [1] are they going to continue that then?” she asks. “And [2] are they going to get their legal documentation changed? Then, [3] later in life, what if they de-transition?"
Laurie Higgins is the propagandist for the anti-LGBT hate group Illinois Family Institute. Higgins' favorite hobby is to express her mindless bigotry regarding LGBTQ people. It is a poisonous obsession which benefits no one. Higgins also believes that she is a great deal more clever than she actually is.

To answer the mindless rhetorical questions:
  1. Yes.
  2. Probably.
  3. They probably will not and why would you care?
It would help if Higgins read more research and less catechism. Once the severity of juvenile gender dysphoria is such that a child feels compelled to transition, the desistance rates are minuscule. Ms. Higgins has no interest in the medical science. She is a Defender of the Faith and the dogma must prevail. As for confusion Higgins should consult the nearest mirror. She is hopelessly confused.

Bigoted Bob continues:
So-called transgender rights have enjoyed a major push by homosexual activists in recent years and Mayor Bill de Blasio's wife, Chirlane McCray, is predictably applauding the city's public schools for embracing such pro-transgender ideology.
“So-called?” Treating children who have a medical condition with decency should not be an issue for those effusively kind conservative Christians who are forever making statements about love as they spout hate. Decency is not an “ideology.” It is an expectation in a civil society.
New York City already implemented an Orwellian business ordinance over “mis-gendering” customers that includes a whopping maximum $250,000 fine

Yes, $250,000 for "he" instead of "she." The liberal, fact-checking website Snopes was forced to admit that fine amount is no right-wing talking point but pointed out businesses won’t be punished if the offense is an accident.
What does any of that have to do with the subject of this article which is school children? This is what is written at Snopes.com:
Shortly after the new guidelines were released, several conservative outlets published headlines suggesting that NYC residents would be fined $250,000 for using the wrong pronoun when referring to a transgender individual. While this claim is technically true in a very narrow sense, it is also very misleading.

For instance, an individual who simply mistakenly uses the wrong pronoun when referring to a transgender individual will not be fined under the new law. However, a person who intentionally and repeatedly refuses to use an individual’s preferred pronoun would be subject to fines (that could reach as high as $250,000 for multiple violations) under the law:
So, yes, it is a right-wing talking point Bob. It is misleading, Bob. Why are you repeating a misleading talking point, Bob? Bigoted Bob passes the baton to Ms. Higgins to conclude this treatise:
"Our government should not be doing this, and teaching it, and promoting it to kids,” Higgins complains. “And that's what they're doing through both policy and curricula.”
I am not really sure what “this” and “it” refers to. Apparently, Higgins is claiming that schools should not accommodate transgender children. There aren't more trans people these days but they do transition younger due to diagnostic improvements and awareness.

Higgins would prefer that public schools violate the Establishment Clause. Administrators should tell these children and their parents that being transgender is impossible because of Genesis 1:27. Many, if not most, Christians and Jews disagree with Higgins

How, exactly, does a school “promote” a medical condition?

What does get “promoted” is ignorance. If Kellogg and Higgins had things their way, no one would understand anything about gender dysphoria from a scientific perspective. Neither of these fools is trying to help anyone or improve anything. Their only interest is in conforming science and society to ancient scripture. Who benefits from that?
